The last verse in the Old Testament was a prophetic promise and warning that God would turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers, or else the nation would be under a curse. We don’t have to look very far to see the curses that result when fathers’ hearts are turned toward self, money, and sports rather than toward their sons and daughters.
I had the privilege of spending the weekend with 200 fathers whose hearts are definitely turned toward their children, and I am glad to report that we all survived “Me & My Dad Camp.” Brave father of five, Julius Fabregas, taught the 250 six to nine-year-olds the first night on the “Father Heart of God.” Julius began his morning session with a review. “Who remembers what I spoke about last night?” About a dozen hands shot up, and one nine-year-old shouted: “The Godfather’s Heart!” Close enough.
A few days ago, I posted some photos of our annual outdoor summer convergence service. Click here for a ninety-second highlight video of the convergence. It may take about sixty seconds to down load so be patient. I know sixty seconds seems like an eternity in our age of instant access, but it will be worth the wait.
