After a long bout with cancer, Pastor Ray Shiels passed away. He leaves behind a wife and two sons—Claudine, Jack, and Sam.
Ray was the founding pastor of the Every Nation church in Dublin, Ireland.
I prayed with Ray two weeks ago at the Swain home in Nashville. After communion, Ray played Amazing Grace on his Irish penny whistle. Though Ray was in pain and could barely take his next breath, he was still praising God with his music. I’ll never forget that moment.
Ray fought the fight of faith til the very end—and he fought it with a smile on his face and with joy in his heart—despite the pain.
