Here is a good quote from Colleen Barnett, president of Southwest Airlines: “I’ve often said that others can copy our business plan but they can’t copy our People.”
You may have noticed that Colleen capitalized the word “People.” (She obviously is not one who “Eats Shoots and Leaves.”) This is not a random act of capitalization; she does this every time she writes “People” to remind herself and everyone that hiring and training the right People is the key to the success of SWA. The leaders at SWA so value People that they have an in-house leadership program called the “University for People.” (Their version of U.P.)
God so valued People that he sent his one and only Son to earth to pay the price for sin. How much do we value the People that God so loves?
