For those who keep asking, William, our first son, is now a freshman at Lipscomb University in Nashville. He is studying journalism and French and seems to be enjoying every minute of it.

He/we picked Lipscomb for two reasons: First, it is in Nashville where we have many friends and a great church family. Second, he was offered a full tennis/academic scholarship. Since 8th grade, when he traded his basketball for a tennis racquet, his goal has been to play college tennis. Having lived his whole life in Manila, and having learned to play tennis the Filipino way, he is having a bit of an adjustment to American college tennis—huge serves on hard court vs lightning quickness on bouncy Filipino shell/clay courts.

James continues to play either tennis or guitar every moment of every day and Jonathan either has a paint brush or a tennis racquet in his hand every waking moment. I hope to post some of Jonathan’s new paintings soon (as soon as I get a new battery charger for my camera). All for now.
