After an extended time off, I’m coming out of retirement, and I’m blogging again.

It’s 6:00 a.m., and I’ve been wide awake for almost three hours, thanks to east-to-west jet lag.

Deborah and I are in beautiful Tagaytay teaching at a marriage retreat for Filipino pastors. Our good friends, Joey and Marie Bonifacio did the opening session last night. Before I fell into a jet lag coma, I heard the following sad quote and warning from Joey:

“I’ve made mistakes because I wasn’t the perfect husband and the perfect dad because I was always gone traveling the world. That’s probably what broke the whole thing up.”

That was not a personal confession from Joey, but Joey quoting Benny Hinn about his recent divorce. On his TV show, Hinn warned viewers not to neglect family for the sake of ministry.

So sad, but so common.

Deborah and I are talking about PRIORITIES to Victory pastors in a few hours. God help us all.

And God, help us all be like Noah in Hebrews 11:7.
“By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark TO SAVE HIS FAMILY. . .”

And in saving his family, Noah saved the world. When we neglect family to save the world, we usually lose both.
