Every Nation Growing Pains & Re-org
Mon., October 31, 2005
Because of the explosive growth of Every Nation Churches & Ministries the past twelve years (from twelve churches in three nations to 400+ churches in 40+ nations), we have been experiencing some serious growing pains. To alleviate the pain and to prepare for the next decade and beyond, we have worked hard the past eighteen months on a reorganization plan that will help us continue to grow and expand until we reach “every nation in our generation.”
A highlight of being on the EN re-org team has been the opportunity to work with our chief consultant, Olan Hendrix. Olan was the founding President of The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA), co-founder of Evangelical Development Ministry, and Director of Leadership Development for World Vision. He now serves as the CEO of Leadership Resource Group. Olan is not just a great management consultant; he is a great Christian and a great example of humility and integrity.
Here are a few of my favorite and most painful Olan quotes:
Recurring crisis is the most common symptom of inadequate management."
"Have you ever noticed that the bottle-neck is always near the top of the bottle?"
There are things God will bless as a supplement, but He will curse as a substitute.”
A well-managed organization is dull.”
ith Olan's help, we are working double time to make sure our next twelve years will be as dull as possible. More on this later.
